FINAL EXAMS

If the Lord gave out report cards

Every month or so;

I wonder how we’d measure up?

Would it help to make us grow?

Would our attendance record rate an ‘A’?

Would our deportment be just ‘fair’?

Would our study habits be alright?

Would we get a passing grade in prayer?

Would our ‘homework’ satisfy Him,

And our citizenship be ‘fine’?

Would He be proud to point to us and say,

“He’s a disciple of mine”?

Or would His remarks be,

“Late for service; Never seems to pray;

Study habits - very poor;

Fails ‘most every day!”

Now Jesus doesn’t grade us

Every month along the way,

But we shall stand before Him

On ‘Examination Day’.

And then, our deeds, the way we’ve lived,

Studied, worked, and prayed

Will all be tried by fiery test;

Will we get a passing grade?
